Finnish Hard Rock

The 69 Eyes is my favorite band at the moment. I just discovered the band 2 years ago, and my very first song was Lost Boys.

I love the singers dark voice, it gives me goosebumps! I love it!

The 69 Eyes is a pretty new band, that has appared at MTV on Viva La Bam. Bam is frequ
ently known to be seen together with HIM, and if you look closely at the video for Lost Boys on YouTube, you can see Bam at least on two shots.

Lost boys is a tribute to the film with the same title, who is about a gang of vampires rampaging around. The lead vampire is Kiefer Sutherland himself!

The band started in 1989 already and is still doing lots of concerts. I wish they would apear in Norway at some point, I will gladely go see them!

Other good songs: Gothic Girl, Still Waters Run Deep, Feel Berlin and Don't turn your back on fear.

Nightwish
Nightwish I discovered by an "accident" while clicking through the TV programmes one night, back in 2002. There was this very special voice singing Over the hills and far away. I was stunned and got more goosebumps.

I searched for the CD, but didn't find it, and gave up almost. Then couple of months later I walked into the CD store and I once again "accidently" bumped into an entire shelf with only Nightwish! I saw the CD, grabed it and ran for the counter! LOL!

Now I have been to both Tarja's concerts in Norway, and is a proud owner of more than that one CD. :o)

I also have Annette's CD and I think it is good too, but in a completely different way. Her voice will never compete against Tarja's. They are too different.

The band started in 1996 and is still making music. Annett is their new lead singer from just a few years back, when the band fired Tarja through their own web site...

Some good songs: Dead Boys Poem, Away, Nemo, Deep Silent Complete, Kingslayer, Walking In The Air and Sleeping Sun.

HIM
I discovered HIM through some penpals actually. They all liked HIM and some other bands. I thought they were death metal and ruled them out to be honest. But one day curiosity overwhelmed me, and boy am I glad for that!

Ville Valo also has this very deep and strong voice that gives me the right mood. Mixed together with some very nice music it makes more pop/ rock than metal/ rock. It's more comercial, but I like it very much.

While driving to my friend's wedding (540km!) my new romance (now my fiancé) was the driver. I had just bought this CD of HIM that we played for hours both on the way up and on the way down. Now HIM reminds me of that trip!

HIM is a Finnish rock band that was formed in 1991. I still haven't made it to a concert of him, and I'm not sure if he's been in Norway either... The keep to Finland, Russia, Sweden and Germany mostly.

Some songs worth listening to: Gone With The Sin, Sweet Pandimonium, Behind the Crimson Door, Wings of A Butterfly and Killing Lonelyness.

Soanata Arctica
A different band in a good way. This is a band I don't remember when I started to listen to. Can't be more than 3 years ago at most. They took my heart and soul when I heard Peacemaker and Letter to Dana.

Tony has an amazing voice that is soft in a special way. He is the best Power Metal voice, together with the singer in Hammerfall.

November 1st 2008 they came to little Norway and did a concert in Rockefeller. A very small and intimate arena, you see them from every angle in the place. The place was full and it was a very good mood among us. :o)

My firm had the annual Christmas party that day, but Frode and I went to see Sonata instead!! I do not regret that at all. Allright, it would have been nice to walk the red carpet on the new James Bond premiere, but hey it's SONATA IN NORWAY!! They sang a lot of new songs that I haven't heard, but even though I didn't know the songs the mood of the concert was sooooo great. :o) We will go next time too, if it doesn't fall on the same day as the Christmas party this year... Don't think my boss' will understand my Sonata addiction. ;o)

This band was formed in 1996, and was first known as Tricky Beans/ Tricky Means! Guess Sonata Arctica is more of a name for this band. :o)
My fave songs: Replica, Fade to Black (cover of Metallica), I want out (cover of Helloween and they do it soooo more complete!), Peacemaker, Draw me and The Power of One.

Libra

Libra is the sign of the scales and like its symbol it is always in pursuit of balance. In its ideal state Libran energy is smooth, airy and unemotional - almost invisible. However if the balance is upset by difficult circumstances Librans can swing between emotional extremes. The sign itself stands halfway through the Zodiac, and its first day is the autumnal equinox when night and day are equal. We find balance again in its ruling planet, harmonious Venus, and Libran energy tends to seek good relations with the energy of all other signs.

The text comes from this website if you want to read more. It describes me the best really.

Here are some other nice websites where you can also read about your own sign:

New Fantasy Pics

Today I found this very nice site that is full of fantasy pictures I
haven't seen before. Some are bad, but I found some amazingly
good ones too. You should try to visit www.epilogue.net if
you like to see. It's kind of a page for people that are growing
as artists, but there are thousands of good pictures if you have the
time to look through the different gallaries.:o) Have fun!

After seing the trailer to this movie I HAVE to see it.
I got goose bumps like 10 times watching the trailer!!
Very unlike me so this must be good.:o)

I absolutely LOVE Sleepy Hollow, and have loved it for almost 10 years.
The settings, the actors, the atmosphere...

Witches. I will consider myself as a modern witch. I have the powers
to do incredible things, not like Sabrina the teenage witch or any of the
Charmed girls. Words are powerful, so are thoughts...

Emily the strange. I can relate to that. I am known as Beate the Strange, but I will rather call myself excentric.

I'm reading

Second book in the Chainfire Trilogy and the 10th(?) book in the Sword
of the Truth serie by Terry Goodkind. I was recomended this
serie by my friend's fiancé and he let me loan his first
book. I was emediatly taken by the power Richard Cypher have
in the book. If I can say that I have fallen in love with
a fantasy character it must be Richard. His love for his wife Kahlan
is so great that I actually get goose bumps on my arms of
just pure pleasure. I wish somebody would love me that
deeply!!! It almost heartbreaking to read and feel
the love in your soul like it is you that love Kahlan!
The story starts in the Westland and in the woods of Hearland. From here
the journey goes through the Boundary and into the Midlands. This
is a huge change in Richards live as he grew up without knowing magic
at all. Now he is in the land of magic itself. The journey is dangerous and
hard, but they manage it barely holding on to their lives...
The book(s) offer lots of surprises and sudden turns which keeps
you intreagued all the way. I personally loved the book Chainfire
the most, but I also hold the very first book very dear.
If you can overlook that the author have a bad habbit of
repeating himself (he's afraid that you didn't get how things
work the first two times he wrote it) I would very
much recomend this book to anybody who loves a great
fantasy story and love stories. These are some of the best
books I have ever read and I hope you too will be able
to read them some day.:o)

Here are three (five) commercials I find funny.

These commercials are from Norway and was shown on TV about 15- 20 years ago. They are still very funny to me.:o)

TrueBlood

This is a trailer on the serie TrueBlood from USA. The makers of Six Feet Under made this one. I love the intro song so I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't in the trailer, but fair enough. I really like the vampire Bill Compton. The serie is a bit weird which really intrigues me further.

Imbolc

Tomorrow it will be Imbolc (candlemas) and I am of course working late shift. Therefore I won't be able to celebrate very big. Guess I will go for a nice cup of herbal tea, light some Jasmine oil scent and have a huge amount of candles around the living room.:o) What will you do tomorrow?

I have also gotten the Witches Bible from Outland (my fave bookstore in Oslo).:o) A good tool to have.

PARIS (AFP) – A few lucky people in the Indian Ocean will be treated to a rare event on Monday when an annular solar eclipse will transform the Sun into a dark disc with a blazing ring-shaped corona around its rim.
In solar eclipses, the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, casting its shadow on the terrestrial surface.
In an annular eclipse, a tiny shift in distance that results from celestial mechanics means the Moon does not completely cover the Sun's face, as it does in a total eclipse.
Instead, for those directly under the alignment, the Moon covers most of the Sun's surface, and a ring-like crown of solar light blazes from the edge of the disk.
For those watching from the fringe of the track, the Sun is partially obscured, as if a bite has been taken out of it.
According to veteran NASA eclipse-watcher Fred Espenak, the total eclipse track will run from west to east on Monday from 0606 GMT to 0952 GMT.
It will traverse the Indian Ocean and western Indonesia before petering out just short of Mindanao, the Philippines.
The partial eclipse will be seen in a much wider swathe, including the southern third of Africa, Madagascar, Australia, Southeast India, Southeast Asia and Indonesia.
It will be the only annular solar eclipse this year. The last was on 7 February, 2007, and after Monday, the next one will be on 15 January, 2010.
The big event for eclipse junkies this year is on July 22, when a total solar eclipse will be visible from India and China, the world's two most populous countries.

My tarot stuff

My tarot book

My Universal Deck - which I use the most.
I got it from a good friend of mine who is
very insightful.

My Hanson - Roberts Deck.

My erotic Manara Deck.

Close ups of my dragon objects

My lamp and my vase with black roses.
The roses are also dipped in some glitter
which makes them very neat.
The vase is a gift from my sister
in law.

Two pentagrams, pointed the right
way. That's important to me as I am
not involved with satanism in any way.
This candle holder is also a gift
from my sister in law.
A gift from my mother in law.
I like the six armed dragon.
This is actually my Yule gift from my
own sister. Which really surprised me
a LOT! Since we don't speak really, and
I haven't told her that I collect these
dragons as far as I know. Besides I didn't
know of any places in Norway that sells these.
Only a place in Sweden.
I also have these great candle holders hanging in two of my windows. Between my nice black curtains.:o)
